US Navy SEALs seem to prefer Emerson blades, but I think Cold Steel is a good commercial equivalent at possibly a better price. I am pretty happy with a cheap Walther folding knife from 440 stainless steel for the bargain basement price of $30.
Hey Roy, what do you think of defensive umbrellas made of kevlar and aramid fibers for self defence in weapons restricted areas? I am a lawyer and was able to bring a good umbrella even into a courthouse without a problem but my pepper spray had to go in the trash outside.
I’m a strong believer to keep your hands free, they might be very handy in case someone is shooting at you, but most muggings and such, you would not have time to open it, and most of the times its with knifes.
keeping your hands free – even in rain, or having a tactical pen in your pocket is much more effective, but thats only my opinion.
not to mention the cost.
Roy, what do you think of the Boeing Black phone, the Blackphone 2, or Solarin
by Sirin Labs for a secure smartphone that resists hacking?
I’m not familiar with these, but I do know that any phone out there can be hacked.
use your phone to download offline maps, so you’ll have a mobile map accessories, or a translator, these come in very handy in emergencies, especially if the wi-fi is down.
make sure to have extra batteries or a solar charger in your 12hr backpack.
Last question Roy, I promise. What do you think of carrying a cheap flashing money clip with one $20 bill to use as a distraction ploy when running away from a mugging rather than handing over your real wallet.
